11, The Wharfage, Ironbridge

11 The Wharfage

This photograph was sent to me, some years ago - long, long after we had left the house.

There had been great changes by the time this was taken. Most of the front wall and the garden have gone. It looks as though the old wash house (on the right, with the new very wide green door) has been converted into a garage or was pulled down and a garage built in its place.

Mr Rickers' Shop, or at least the building, if not the shop, was still there, then, on the left, attached to the house.

[Steven Newport the photograph below was of my Grandmother, standing against the gate (at that time) of 11, The Wharfage, with her back to the river. No idea when this was taken though. It was amongst my fathers notes]
